Description: These flowers come from South America and have been cultivated by growers for hundreds of years. There are many types of hybrids available. Glads are available year round from a variety of different sources. They typically last six to ten days and are available in numerous colors.

How to care for your gladiolus:

• Upon recieving your gladiolus, remove any packaging material right away.
• Remove any leaves that might fall below the water line and any damaged leaves so as to prevent contamination.
• Remove any residues such as silt and sand from the stems.
• Cut at least one inch off of ever stem with a sharp knife or pruners, be sure to use a diagonal cut.
• Place the stems in a hydrating solution to keep them fresh.
• Place the stems in a clean container filled with a solution of warm water and flower food.
• Keep the flowers refrigerated, be sure to cool them for at least two hours before trying to sell them so they can hydrate.
• Be sure to clean the container, replace the solution, and recut the stems every other day.
