Description: Irises are a very old and popular flower. There are over a thousand varieties but they all share their six segmented blooms in common. The two main groups of irises are bulbous and rhizomatous. Irises are available in many colors including blue, purple, lavender, white, and yellow. Their life is short, only three to seven days after being cut so they must be ordered shortly before being needed.

How to care for your irises:

• Remove any packaging material immediately.
• Remove any loose foliage that may have come loose during shipping and remove any leaves covering the blooms.
• With a sharp knife, cut each stem about 1 to 2 inches
• Place the stems in a hydrating solution.
• Place the stems in a clean container filled with a flower food and warm water solution.
• Be sure to let the flowers open up slightly before placing them in the cooler.
• Let the flowers stay in the cooler for at least two hours before selling them.
• Clean the container, change the solution, and recut the stems every other day.
