Description: Lisianthus are very hardy flowers. They last from 10 to 14 days. Their appearance is much life a tiny cup with several flowers on each stem. They are available in single or double varieties, with the double varieties resembling roses. They are available in many colors, including purple, lavender, pink, white, red, and various two-tones. Lisianthus is available year round as a cut flower.

How to care for your lisianthus:

• Remove any shipping material right away.
• Treat the flowers with an ethylene inhibitor.
• Cut each stem with a sharp knife or pruners at a diagonal angle. Be sure to remove at least an inch from each stem.
• Place the freshly cut stems in a water and flower food solution in a clean container. For lisianthus, you can increase the sugar content by 3 to 4 percent because lisianthus loves sugar.
• Be sure to clean the container and replace the solution every other day, as well as recut the stems.
