Common Name: Stock, Gillyflower

Description: Stock is popular in both gardens and arrangements and is known for its clove-like fragrance. The large flower cluster can be found in both single and double flowered varieties. Stock can come in pink, white, violet, lavender, reddish, and others. The lifespan of stock is usually five to eight days. Stock can be found from many sources year round.

How to care for your Stock:

• Immediately open the box!
• Leave on the plastic sleeves so the blooms do not get damaged.
• Be sure to remove any foliage that might lie beneath the waterline as this could contaminate the water.
• Cut at least an inch off of every stem with a sharp knife or pruner at a diagonal angle.
• Place the stems in a hydrating solution.
• Place the freshly cut stems in a clean container with a solution of water of flower food.
• Place the stock in a cooler. Make sure they drink for at least two hours before selling.
• Every other day clean the container, recut the stems, and replace the solution.
